Gotta Love Charlie Daniels
In the last several decades there has been an ever-growing social dependence on the federal government. Whether unemployment payments, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security or some other form of assistance, the amount of money paid out by hundreds of government programs every month is staggering and totally unsustainable and something has to be done or this nation is not going to survive.
The problem is that at this crucial time in our history we are, for all practical purposes, leaderless. Barack Obama is an absentee president, delegating what should be executive branch decisions to Congressional committees and political eggheads.
The pitiful and partisan attempts of the super committee to recommend budget cuts were a colossal waste of time as it was destined to be from the start.
The Congressional approval rating is an all time low of 9% and who that 9% is, I can't say.
The problem with our Congress is not that they're Democrat or Republican, conservative or liberal. The problem with our Congress is that they are not civil servants. For the most part they're self serving, power hungry frauds masquerading as representatives of the people while they line their pockets and spend our hard earned tax dollars on pet projects to get re-elected.
While our elected officials get rich on insider trading, a little perk they allow themselves while anybody else would go to prison for it, they allow Eric Holder to destroy states rights, sign bills they haven't even read and allow Obama to pack the Supreme Court with partisan liberal justices who could well be what causes the final tears in our tattered social fabric.
The current fiscal mess we're in was created by people like Barney Frank and Maxine Waters, arrogant blowhards who helped force banks to give loans to people who had no chance of paying them back and lax government agencies who refused to acknowledge the fact that the sky was falling.
The mass exodus of manufacturing from America is basically because the government has strangled business with suffocating regulations and they can't make a profit here.
Their cowardly refusal to go against the president and the environmentalists has seriously endangered the national security of this nation by not allowing domestic harvesting of petroleum, knowing full well that it would take Islamic terrorists only one day to shut down oil exports from the Middle East by blocking off the Persian Gulf and the Straits of Hormuz.
So what shakes out is this, we have a president who doesn't like America very much, who says it's no longer a Christian nation, whose only solution to getting out of debt is to go deeper into debt, whose idea of creating jobs is to grow government, who hides behind czars and committees and continues to give away money America has to borrow.
And we have a Senate and Congress whose only real interest is re-election and by the way, they don't have to go on Obamacare, they travel at our expense and get a generous retirement package for the rest of their lives.
How about this:
Two Presidential terms of four years.
Two Senatorial terms of four years.
Four Congressional terms of two years.
Senators and Congressmen have to abide by the same laws as the public when it comes to the stock market and other dirty little secret advantages they get on the rest of us and have to depend on 401k's and social security just like everybody else.
They are only allowed to have the same health insurance as the rest of us.
You may well say, "If you did that who would want to serve?"
I'll tell you who, real public servants, that's who.
What do you think?
Pray for our troops, and for our country.
God Bless America
